Fashion for Fun and Frolic! The SBG is known for it's wide variety of talented individuals and pastimes. These include the Stock Market, Battledome, Avatar Collecting, Neohome Building, and even writing for the Neopian Times! Now we have found a new one to add to our list...the Fashion Bug has hit the SBG, and it isn't a Red Carpet look either! Currently we have two very unlikely fashion leaders amongst the hundreds of members. Let us begin with the most unlikely of the two...lpcdobber! Dob began his career in fashion after a long day of restocking in the shops. Although he was unable to get any decent purchases, his eye was nevertheless caught by a shiny new t-shirt he found that he just couldn't resist! The snazzy shirt read only, "I tried restocking and all I got was this lousy t-shirt!" Delighted at his new acquisition, he quickly put it on, much to the surprise of the regular members. Soon, he was all over the fashion world. His latest look included the prize he won from a contest held by victoria932. His prize was a pair of stunning Valentines Earrings. In a quote captured by our reporters, Dob is heard saying, "*Dob tries on the earrings.* What could be in store for this fashion guru in the future? Who knows? We only hope that he continues to develop his latent talents, and perhaps is able to prevent the clashing of his earrings with his next ensemble. Our next fashion aficionado is the lovely midniteir. Normally a lovely woman, she has apparently decided to let her hair down...literally! Midnite has decided that beards on women are more than fashionable, they're downright hip! Although offered a razor by her fashion friend Dob, she declined, and instead took time to comb the crispy little chin hairs. Not many women could pull this off with such aplomb, but Midnite has her own ideas of what is right and what just doesn't fit. Could this be a look for you? If it is, the world may be set on it's collective ear in a short amount of time. Growth hormones and hair potions may become the wave of the beauty world! Razors may become downright rusty, and plucking may become passé... On second thought, perhaps following the fashion ideas of these two brave individuals would be a step in the wrong direction. The thought of hairy women wearing t-shirts that read "I tried restocking and all I got was this lousy t-shirt", while their Valentines earrings flash in the sun, is turning my brain into a puddle of slobbering slime! Perhaps it would be best to let us all follow our own instincts, and leave the high fashion areas to those brave enough...and tough enough...to get away with them. (Please note, this article is semi-tongue-in-cheek. If you read it as anything else, you should consider a job with the ENT! LOL!) Webpage Wonders !~ Reporter ~ Tay This week we have a new section! How NOT to Get Noticed Sometimes things get hectic on our guild board. After all, the SBG is by far one of the most active guilds in Neopia! So, sometimes it may seem that your post just disappears in a mountain of battledome chatter, or some other hot topic. This can be frustrating, but easily remedied. Simply re-type your question...politely, and you should get an answer. However, there are a few more...shall we say..."wrong ways" to try to get noticed, and these ways will most likely end up with your being ignored, or being snipped at, by other members. Here are a few things you should NOT do if you want to be noticed on the board. 1 - Have type so small (or colored so lightly) that many of
the older members can't read your posts. These are just a few of the ways to get yourself ignored on the boards. We encourage posting helpful information, a little fun, even being just plain silly. But, and this is a "Yoda but", remember that there are real, live people reading your messages. Those people have feelings and may have beliefs different from yours. Try to keep it friendly and we will all be a lot happier! Plus, you'll be a welcome and active member of the boards in no time at all! LOL! brainyiscool - Visited the Alien Aisha Vending Machine on the 18th, and dragged away with 2583 nps, a Bottled Fire Faerie, a Bottled Light Faerie, an Anchovy Loaf, and a Normal Golden Nerkmid! Well done Brainy! amanda_finch - Saved up her nps, and was able to change her young pet Miloblob from a Checkered Acara to a Plushie Scorchio on the 18th...which she has always wanted! WTG Amanda! drunksage - Won 2k from the Wheel of Excitement on the 18th! Nice, DS! sato_master - Happened upon a traveling library on the 18th and was given a free copy of Deep Sea Explorations! A rare book worth around 40 - 60k! Hold onto THAT library card Sato! thegreatofficer - Made it to the top 100 list for the new game Castle Battles on the 18th! Nicely defended TGO! __raiders__ - Was given the acceptance letter he was waiting for on the 19th, and can now go to the High School he always wanted to! Freelancers Midniteir Madness? Alien Aisha Abductions! It was the 17th of February when young perplyone first opened this can of worm nuggets! In a quote captured by our talented reporters, Perp said, "I was abducted by Alien Aishas...they offered to have me for dinner, but then they started eyeing me funny and drooling a lot." In a horrifying confession, he was overheard telling another member, "The aliens say I taste like chicken." What horrors has the Neopets team released on an unsuspecting public? What can be done to stem the tide of evil Aisha abductions? How can we defend ourselves from this terrifying scourge? Perhaps we shall simply turn loose the Skeiths and hope they eat a few Aishas while they snack on our Bottles of Sand or uber rare items.
