Ad Crazy! Lately we have all been thoroughly annoyed by the latest ads
which have been created at the bottom of many pages of Neopets. Namely, the
giant, pain in the patootie, square ads that beg you for a click. If this is
bothering you as well, read on for a possible way to avoid it. Using some ad blocking programs can block some of the ads.
Although Neopets will still get the credit for them, you won't have to deal
with them! Neopets seems to have no problem with it, since Adam himself has
apparently stated that he doesn't care if you block the ads. Therefore,
using one of these programs may save you a little time and aggravation...
without the guilt! Which one you use is up to you and your computer, since
there doesn't seem to be a consensus on which would work best. For ideas on
which programs may work best for you, ask under "Let's Talk Computers" on
the Neodaq and see what ideas await you! The only other option, besides just dealing with it, is of
course paying to play Neopets. Where you would go to get information on
this, however, is beyond me. They certainly don't make it easy to find
anything about becoming a paying member. However, it has been stated by
several members that should you pay to play Neopets, the ads are a thing of
the past. Whatever you decide to do keep one thing in mind. Each day
hundreds of new Neopians sign up, and this strains the already glitchy site.
To gain new servers...for a FREE site...still takes cash. It's only a a few
ads. Most of the time players don't pay any attention to them. So, be
thankful the site is still free at this point, and let's just play.

Become a Reporter! Are you a person with an eye for detail? Think you have what it takes to sort through page after page of chat board messages every day? I am looking for a few reliable people who can be counted on to read the entire board daily...except Saturday and Sundays...and get the information to me by each Friday evening. If interested, send a neomail to illianatgd, or a private message on Neodaq to Tay. Details on sending in your stories/info will be discussed then. ~ CURRENT OPENINGS ~ Freelancer - Find the "odd" stories. You know, like important things in our members' lives. Weddings, births, graduations, etc. New Members - Really important to have an eye for detail here. Wouldn't do to miss someone and hurt their feelings! Contest Winners - Will need you to list what contest it was, who ran it, who won it, and what they won. Congratulations - A real eye for detail is needed here as well. I need someone willing to keep a sharp lookout for those announcements about winning big pots, getting a great job, finding a seriously cool item, or just plain attaining a goal they have been trying for. (Please note, I will not print avatar accomplishments simply because they are FAR too numerous.) Upgrades - I need a member of the council...Hello...Waddle?...to send me a PM on Neodaq each week for the upgrades. I look forward to your replies. Crashes and Smashes! The biggest fear of all good
Stock Market Neopians seems to be the talk of the board right now. Will the
ENT cause a stock market crash? Most of the hubub centers around one
question posted in the Neopian Times Editorial by a 13 year old who can't
even receive neomails: And of course the equally disturbing answer from the ENT: While we completely understand the fear penetrating every pore of your being right now, we believe that this fear is not grounded in Neopian reality. Here are just a few reasons why we can say this in all good conscience. The Stock Market, unlike most Neopian games, has been around since the site began. It has undergone few changes in that time, and is largely ignored by the Neopets Team. Also, while it is listed under "Games", it is actually separated from the normal game areas...making it far less likely to just be wiped out. It is in its own category really. While some stocks may crash, others will "eventually" take their place. It's all part of the game. Besides, why would they have announced two new stocks, albeit invisible stocks, if they intended to do something like this? Also, we remind people that tens of thousands of Neopians play the market. Were the ENT to cause a crash, the fallout and chaos that would erupt after would lose them a good many players...many of whom are over the age of 16. How does this affect their decision? Those types of people are the ones that all of these blasted ads are aimed at...namely, people who have the cash, and ability, to buy the products they tout so loudly. To anger such a large group of potential customers would not be in their best interests. Lastly, and this is my favorite point, we all know just how stupid Nigel really is. How does this affect the outcome? Simple. He is an employee of the ENT, dumb as a box of rocks, and therefore his job is secure for the life of Neopia. It's bureaucracy at its finest! We all know that if Nigel was smart, charismatic, and capable of doing his job to the "nth degree", that he would have been fired ages ago! That's how business is run. No, my fellow guild members, we do not believe this is something we should really worry about. They may take away a few stocks, and they may add a few more...or ignore the market as usual. The one thing that would almost guarantee a huge loss of players would be a market crash...therefore, it's likelihood is VERY slim. Thankfully, Nigel isn't job hunting yet, so I guess I'll just head down and buy my stocks for the day. (Please note, this article is semi-tongue-in-cheek. If you read it as anything else, you should consider a job with the ENT! LOL!)
- Birthday Shop Admins - How to Get Upgraded !~ Editorial ~ Tay Many new members are apparently all in a fuddle about this area. It really isn't that difficult. Unlike most guilds, the SBG is committed to providing its members a safe, fun, helpful chat board. That being said, just being a member of this guild is not enough to get you an upgrade here. So what is a member to do? First off, take a deep breath. It's not that big a deal, really. Most of us don't even pay attention to the title...and many didn't even know they had gotten an upgrade until weeks after it had been given. Still wondering? *Sigh* All right then. Here is the way upgrades are decided... 1 - You must be a member for at least a month. See? It really is quite simple. Be a part of our group, rather than outside of it, and upgrades are sure to come. Just remember, we want to get to know you. That's what we are all about! Have fun with the board, and play nice. Freelancers Recovery has been recovered! What's an XLS ? The latest upgrade was accomplished by dj_don, and we haven't been disappointed. DJ has created a new program that will be able to log your sales in automatically, not to mention a few other changes, meant to make things much easier for everyone!
